Simple analysis methods and field data are the key to pinpointing causes of and solutions to distillation equipment operating problems. The first step in troubleshooting common field problems is to gather accurate field data and thoroughly analyze the existing operation before attempting to formulate solutions. The field troubleshooting case history shows how to use field data and a systematic analysis procedure to identify and remove operating limits in a deisobutanizer (DIB).
