Addition of a molecular sieve unit or a fractionating section in a new or existing isomeriztion unit to recycle unreacted normal paraffins will improve gasoline pool octane. This assumes that the project is a success. Commercial experience has shown that using existing equipment can reduce capital investment but increases the potential for problems to arise.
